N.M.T. Academy has played a very prominent role in various stages of my life, right from my toddler years till the end of school.

The guidance and nurturing of our teachers, supporting management and overall environment helped in boosting my confidence and furthering me down my professional path.

I am Ashish Ajwani and I received my SSC from NMT Academy in 1984. I attended Jai Hind College in Churchgate and received my HSC in Science in 1986. Following that I pursued Electrical Engineering from VJTI in Matunga and graduated with a BSEE in 1990. I was fortunate to be admitted to University of Arlington, Texas (UTA) to their Master’s program and completed my MS, Computer Science in December 1992.

After graduating from UTA, I have had a 30 year career in Software Development, first as a software development engineer (coding) and then moving into engineering management. After working at McKesson corporation (7 years) and Century Link/Lumen (10 years), I have been at Amazon since Feb 2010 as a Director of Software Development. These days, I work in Prime Video (division of Amazon focused on movies/concerts/sports) and have been involved in bringing some high profile sporting events to streaming customers – English Premier League, Champions League, Thursday Night Football to name a few.

At Amazon, we write documents a lot (and rely on PowerPoint presentations much less). Each time I write a document, I fondly remember my English teachers from NMT and how diligent they were that we learn Prose, Poetry and Grammar – huge help to me these days. Along the same lines, big thanks to all my other teachers as well as the high bar for education that we had in NMT has benefited me in life in numerous ways.

I remain very grateful to NMT Academy and all my teachers – the education and foundation they provided me has been a “spring board” that has propelled me in my career and life.
