Nanikram Menghraj Trust Academy is a co-educational institution that has 900 students from diverse backgrounds, an English Medium High School, founded in January 1970 by Nanikram Menghraj Trust of Bombay. The aim is not only to provide academic education but also to carefully develop the student’s all-round personality.
The Academy caters to the Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary Sections. The Primary Section is recognised by the Education Department of the Greater Bombay Municipal Corporation, while the Secondary Section is recognised by the Education Department, Government of Maharashtra. Hence, it prepares students for the S.S.C. examination of Maharashtra State.
Admission to the Academy is open to all irrespective of caste and creed. In order to promote national integration, special efforts are made to develop a spirit of mutual understanding, tolerance, peace, respect and harmony among the students. To imbibe the spirit of National integration school organises Fancy dress competitions of attire of various states of India. To empower and encourage girl student’s academy celebrate Balika Divas.
N.M.T. Academy has a student’s council which consists of leadership roles i.e. Head Boy, Head Girl, Sports Captain, House captain, etc. which are created to give students leadership qualities. It encourages teamwork and promotes competitive spirit among students. The students are divided into 4 distinct houses: Red, Green, Blue and Yellow House.
The students are taught to take various responsibilities and to be accountable for the same. Swachh Bharat Drive details undertake responsibility to keep the school clean. We practice Swachh Bharat Day by making the students sweep and mop the school premises to teach them cleanliness and hygiene.
The Academy tries to inculcate in its students a deep sense of social justice and dignity of work. To achieve this, social service and work experience projects are planned in which all our students are encouraged to participate.

The Academic year begins in June and ends in April each year, with one Terminal and one Final examination throughout the academic year. The curriculum comprises two terms: June to October and November to April.
Students must secure a minimum of 35% marks to pass in any subject. Promotion of a student from one standard to another shall be at the end of the Academic Year on the basis of his/her performance at the two Semester Examinations prescribed and conducted by the school.
Apart from regular Drawing period for the students of Std V to VIII, school has in-house coaching and guiding for talented and enthusiastic students of Std. V to X to enrol for the Elementary/Intermediate Drawing exam conducted by the Directorate of Art, Government of Maharashtra.
N.M.T. Academy’s Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A.) aims at enforcing cordial and friendly relations between the members of the Management, Staff and Parents of the students so that there may be better understanding and co-operation between home and school. All parents are expected to be the members of the Association and to take part in all the activities.
All students must wear the correct colour and pattern of uniform and black shoes with white socks to school daily. Complete P.T. and Scouts/Guides uniform must be worn on specific days. Irregular attendance, habitual absence without information, obscenity in word or act, insubordination to teachers, any form of cheating or serious misconduct even outside school premises and any habit or behaviour objectionable to the good name of the school are sufficient reasons for the dismissal of a student.
Students are not allowed to leave the school premises during school hours without permission of the Principal/Head-Mistress/Supervisor and the concerned Teacher. Any type of disrespect or discourtesy towards the management and/or members of the school teaching staff will be considered as a breach of discipline.
The classrooms in N.M.T. Academy are equipped with smart boards, fully air-conditioned computer laboratory, boasts of an in-house canteen that provides children with healthy and nutritious food, an AV hall to host events and programs, a science laboratory, library, CCTV surveillance to ensure safety of children, an activity area, a conference room, and a physical education hall.
